From about mid June our lake is warm enough to swim (22 -26c) (76-78f) Depending on the year, of course it could be sooner! Jump in off the dock!
Fishing is plentiful here! We have several species that can be caught right off our dock! Such as Northern Pike, Walleye, Largemouth Bass, Smallmouth Bass, Musky and Black Crappie. For the little ones fishing off the dock they are sure to catch a Sun Fish!
There's so much to look at and discover while boating around the lake. Enjoy all the islands, inlets, bays and channels on 1725 acres of water! Several boat launches are available around the lake.
The calm waters of Whitestone Lake are perfect for exploring all the arms and coves on kayaks, canoes, by peddle boat or even our paddle board!
The Whitestone Lake Recreational Trail makes a 2.9 km loop through a diverse mixed forest with towering hemlock and vibrant oak trees. Allow 2-3 hours to complete the loop.
So many animals live here in peace with us. It's especially interesting to watch the beaver family build their dam, they really work hard all year round!
With so many islands, coves and bays to explore within Whitestone Lake, you'll always find something new and exciting around the next corner.
Enjoy cliff jumping at the well known local spot Deadmans Drop. Your sure to see other cottagers there and if your brave enough, climb up the rope or the rocks and jump 30ft in to the the water below.
Whitestone Lake is famous for its ice fishing in the winter months. The Whitestone Rod & Gun Club hosts its Annual Ice Fishing Derby each year. Come stay with us, get out and test your luck!
With plenty of trails, cross country skiing and snowshoeing are breathtaking in the beautiful winter wonderland around us.
There are many trails and riding clubs in the Dunchurch / Whitestone areas. Contact us for details to help plan your ride.
For many months during a typical winter Whitestone Lake is covered in 11-20 inches of ice. Perfect for a family skate or game if pick-up with your friends. Note: Please check with local bait shops or marinas if you are unsure of the ice thickness. Safety first!
Several local golf courses of varying difficulty are located in the Whitestone / Parry Sound areas.
There are several local stables providing trail rides and riding lessons in Magnetawan & South River.
Check out the West Parry Sound District Museum or the Magnetawan museum for local history and artifacts.
